Angela A’Court was born in London in 1961. She attended the West Surrey College of Art and Design, UK, Parsons School of Art and Design, New York and Goldsmiths’ College London BA (Hons) Fine Art Textiles. After graduating from Goldsmiths’ College, A’Court worked as an interior designer for an architectural practice and then independently as a designer. Her work has been recorded in various English magazines, including Homes and Gardens, the Sunday Times and Traditional Interiors. Her work has also appeared in books such as Modern Rustic and Interiors by Design.

Throughout her years as a designer, A’Court always had a sketchbook in hand and continued to paint. In 2002, she decided to put design behind her and return to painting full time. Since then, she has regularly exhibited her pastels in the UK at venues such as the Stour Gallery, the Pastel Society, the Discerning Eye and Josie Eastwood Gallery. In 2004, A’Court and her family moved to the US, where she now lives and works in New York City. “Regarding Arcadia” was A’Court’s first major exhibition in the US.
