Amanda Season Keeley (b. New London, CT) is a Miami-based visual artist, curator, and publisher. Keeley’s practice spans sculpture, artist’s books, and multimedia interactive installations, often enriched by community collaborations. Printmaking is central to Keeley’s work, which she describes as a form of choreographic mark-making where there is a dynamic interplay between language, typography, and semiotics. Printmaking for Keeley retains a nearly unlimited possibility and opportunity for exploring the shapes and architecture of typography alongside the spatial gestures our bodies create.

Keeley’s works are found in the public collections of Museum of Modern Art, NY; The Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, Netherlands; The New York Public Library; and Astrup Fearnley Museum, Oslo, Norway among others. Keeley founded Exile Books in 2014 which has produced more than 50 books and zines with artists and whose mobile book shops evolved the concept of a community bookshop and community collaboration. Keeley has also published multiple artist books of her own, most recently, Words to Sea, a book that quite literally dissolves in water as the reader removes pages from the book releasing the text in a collaborative act calm mindfulness and self-reflection.
