We were introduced in 2021 by writer & critic Eric Suchère, head of ‘Les Arts dans les chapelles’ Summer project in Britanny. He asked to publish a print for the program.
Armelle came back afterwards to lay her compositions on three stones of the same format for monochromatic lithographs entitled Impromptus for our first editions together. She observed the physical possibilities of printing and proposed to place circular masks in fine paper on her forms, before setting the paper on the inked stone, for each copy. Once in press, this creates real mask outs, or holes or windows that render a perfect dynamic.
