A striking portrait on Somerset paper with deckled edges. Mint condition. "It is a lithograph I made in 1984/5. It was commissioned by the Gulbenkian Foundation as part of their Artists as Printmakers awards. I made it just after I had completed the Arts Council residency at Sunderland Football Club. It is the only lithograph I have ever made apart from a couple of other testers I did at the time. The person in the print was called Stuart, I can't remember his surname. The print was made in Newcastle. ....I always paint people I know. I know everybody in the paintings. I choose strong paintings. Mainly young people who don’t know what they are yet".
