Originally from Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Babou – whose real name was Christian Baboulène (1946–2005) – initially aligned himself with the *Figuration Narrative* movement but soon created a unique, poetic, and sensitive universe of his own. Collaborating with him was an unforgettable adventure. A master colorist, he was extremely rigorous and set exceptionally high standards for image composition. We produced several works together, including the "Playgrounds" series, his luminous "Bastides," and an equestrian piece titled "Entraves."
