Description

Created in 1968, Ossie and Mo exemplifies David Hockney’s mastery of etching and his playful engagement with portraiture and personal narrative. Executed on Crisbrook handmade paper, the work combines delicate linework with an intimate, expressive approach, reflecting Hockney’s early experimentation with printmaking techniques.

The piece’s dedication and nuanced detail underscore its personal and artistic significance, while the full margins and careful printing provide a sense of formal elegance. Published by Petersburg Press in London and New York and printed in the United Kingdom, this etching is a distinguished example of Hockney’s late 1960s print practice, highlighting both technical skill and emotional resonance.
