Derek Mynott (1925-1994). Mynott studied at the High Wycombe School of Art from the age of 13. In 1945 he moved on to the Slade School under the direction of Professor Randolph Schwabe – a pupil of Degas – and then of Sir William Coldstream who introduced the influence of the Euston Road School. At 26, Mynott was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) and his first one-man exhibition was held at the RBA the following year. He exhibited widely both in England and overseas, including 17 times at the Royal Academy shows, showing works in a range of mediums including oil, watercolour and lithography. He has work in the TATE, the Government Art Collection and the British Council. (NB note the date of production given is a best estimate and needs further work)
