Edward J. Detmold (1883-1957) collaborated on many prints, such as the present one, with his twin brother Charles M. Detmold (1883-1908). They had a particular talent for natural subjects, especially birds, in both water colour and etching/engraving. This peacock and peahen display the exquisite detail of which they were capable.
From the usual 1920 edition printed by Edward. Signed in pencil in full by E.J. Detmold, also signed by him with the initials of both artists.
A fine, nuanced impression printed on simile japon, with wide margins. Very pale light-burn, a couple of minor indentations in the margins.
