Takeda (b. 1948) is a master of the line which is beautifully executed in intricate detail. Here in his Altamira Series he depicts animals in skeletal form but with a sense of humour, and true to every bone. Takeda was the first Japanese contemporary artist to have a solo exhibition at the British Museum and his works are in its permanent collection
