Jim Dine is an American pop artist from Ohio. His career in art began in the late 1950s. Jim Dine is well known for painting, sculpting, drawing, and printmaking. Much of Jim’s art was from man-made objects and nature. He created his art in America during a tough time of social unrest. During this time, he was one of those painters shocking to America and the art world. This was an artist producing pop art from everyday items that were used in life everyday. It was in 1983 this artist was elected into the National Academy of Design. Besides pop-art, he is considered to be a part of the Neo-Dada Movement.
