“Hollow & Solid Rectangles” is one of a series of lithographs that the artist made in 2006 while an artist in residence at Kala Art Institute. The image was made by repeatedly stamping a plastic eraser dipped in liquid tushe on an aluminum lithographic plate. It exemplifies Higgins’ interest in creating abstract, minimalist works made using repetition and patterns.
The image was printed on Goyu kozo paper which was later mounted to a white sheet. The image size is 16 x 16 inches and the sheet size is 20 x 20 inches. The edition is nearly sold out.
