“My work has deep roots in abstract expressionism. Every painting is a conversation with color and shape. I work intuitively, giving myself permission to experiment with new ideas and concepts. I’m impressed by everything I see… the branching of trees, the beauty of flowers, and the intricacy of networks. Color is a huge part of my thinking. What combinations would be surprising or exciting? I consider composition, texture, and the interplay of surface and depth.
