Vedute miopi is a series of 11 large-scale monotypes produced by Matisse Mesnil during his art residency in 2026. Layering watercolour washes and offset inks applied to a Plexiglas plate and printed on an intaglio press, the work explores a gestural and experimental approach to image-making. The process establishes a dialogue between direct manual intervention and the mechanical, repetitive nature of printmaking, balancing technical control with the inherent unpredictability of material processes.
“Vedute miopi” were exhibited during SUTURA, his first solo exhibition in Italy, organised by Gate 44 in collaboration with Romero Paprocki Gallery
