Walking the line between painting and printmaking, Pauline D’Andigné works with the monotype technique, reworked through subsequent layers of print, paint, and finishes.
The work expresses the courage of joyfulness, evoking a state of physical bliss achieved through the exercise of mental freedom — the act of reconsidering and reconfiguring. They carry us to a timeless place defined by flickering, blinding beauty unfolding through space like a burst of pleasure: a pleasure never devoid of pain and fear, yet one that finds its resolution in their contemplation.
Flickering between light and darkness, she invites us to consider that the path to understanding lies in the moment of transition itself – in the act of change, in the space between light and darkness, in that invisible and imperceptible instant that divides them.
