Philipp von Rosen Galerie in Cologne is run solely by its eponymous owner and was established in 2015. It continues former Figge von Rosen Galerie (founded in 2006).

We work with artists of our generation that have a contemporary understanding of the art and the world. We want to build up careers of young artists, and to further develop careers of more established artists. These artists have a close and continuous relation to the gallery. Besides the shows with artists represented by the gallery we like to show occasionally exhibitions with a more historical focus. These artists are not permanently represented by the gallery, but back up its program. Examples are exhibitions with Werner Büttner, Walter Dahn, Peter Downsborough,
Daan van Golden, Ulrich Rückriem, or Remy Zaugg. Curated group shows have and will widen(ed) the focus of the gallery.

Our program encompasses a range of international artists who are working with different media, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video, and installation. The program is centered around political and sociological themes on the one side (for example Yelena Popova,
Javier Téllez, Rebecca Ann Tess, and Judi Werthein). On the other side we work with artists who reflect the conditions and definitions of their work and the media employed. Artists like Koen van den Broek, Martin Gerwers, Nic Hess, Jonas Maas and Ignacio Uriarte can be related to this group. The approach of these artists is inherently conceptual (in the sense of: analytical).
