Daniel Spoerri

1930 Born in Galati (Romania). Lives and works in Seggiano
1949 Meets with Max Terpis, Jean Tinguely and Eva Aeppli. Lessons at the Theatredancingschool Zürich
1954-57 First dancer at the Theatre in Bern. Friendship with Dieter Roth, Bernhard Luginbühl, Claus Bremer, Andre Thomkins and Meret Oppenheim.
1959 Publishing of „Edition MAT“, First Edition of Multiples. Meets with Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray.
1960 First Tableau-piège. Signs the Manifests of Nouveau Realisme along with Jean Tinguely, Arman, Francis Dufrene, Raymond Hains, Yves Klein, Pierre Restany, Villeglé and Martial Raysse.
1964 Contact to the Fluxus movement.
1978-82 Professor at the technical College for Art and Design in Cologne.
1982-83 Guestprofessor at the international summeracademy of Art, Festung Hohensalzburg, Salzburg.
1983 Professor at the Academy of Art, Munich (until 1989). Guestlecturer at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Brest.
1987 Guestlecturer at the Academy of Applied Art, Vienna.
1991 Beginning of the works on „Il Giardino“ in Seggiano. Inauguration 1997
