Seated Mother and Child is a lithograph from 1976 featuring Henry Moore’s famous figures. Moore was well known for creating prints and sculptures exploring the human form and this print is a fantastic example.

Signed and numbered out of the edition of 75 in pencil by Moore.

Print measures 22.6 x 28 cm.

Frame measures 32.3 x 39.3 cm.

Henry Moore (1898-1986), a leading English artist, explored the human form and was integral to Modernist and Surrealist movements. Serving as a war artist during World War 2, he gained international acclaim for sculpture, winning the Venice Biennale Prize in 1948. The Henry Moore Foundation preserves his legacy, and the Tate showcases a substantial collection of his sculptures.

The Artist

Henry Moore

Henry Moore produced many prints, his first prints being created in the 1940s. Most of Henry Moore’s prints are lithography prints though he also produce many etching prints. All of Moore prints are original prints as Moore saw printmaking as a distinct medium to create artworks.
