- Description
-
Signed poster for Jim Dine’s 1970 exhibition of Complete Graphics at Gallery Mikro, Berlin. Printed on fine paper with the same plates used to print Dine’s Scissors and Rainbow 1969 edition. Unlike mass-produced inkjet printed posters, this original vintage poster was designed and signed by the artist, and hand-printed in a limited edition.
This poster features one of Jim Dine’s trademark tools: a pair of scissors hangs on a long thread from Jim Dine’s name. In the original Scissors and Rainbow edition, the thread spells out “Scissors” – in this original exhibition poster, the word “scissors” is replaced by the artist’s name. A colorful, small rainbow is labeled “Rainbow” in grey cursive. At the base of the poster, bold black text reads “Complete Graphics April 1970 Galerie Mikro Berlin”.
