Arty-Fact: Jiang's artistic intention was to reverse the Chinese tradition of painting in grey, black, and white. Put simply, "Chinese art had reached a sick level due to its lack of colour."

Jiang is a storyteller. His paintings are steeped in Buddhist and Chinese mythology. Each figure has a symbolic meaning. In the words of the artist, "For every picture there is a story, and for every story there is a picture."

"Flowering Age" personifies these artistic elements.
