Signed in pencil and dedicated to Peter Casson.
Watermark: David Strang
A fine, rich impression with margins, extremely faint mat-burn, otherwise in very good condition.
Major Peter Casson was Deputy Assistant Adjutant – General of the British War Crimes Executive based at the Courthouse, Nuremberg, and it was there he first met Laura Knight. He was responsible together with two other captains for the care, pass and travel arrangements of the artist while performing her commission for a painting of the Trials in 1946.
They became firm friends for the rest of her life.
