Warhol created the Liz Taylor 7 print in 1967 based off a photograph taken in 1960 for her film, Butterfield 8. The movie star was a fixture in the tabloid headlines, and as Warhol was fascinated with the glamour and prestige of fame, he took a particular interest in Liz Taylor and Marilyn Monroe, whom he eternalized in creating his famous portraits.
