Mercure et Argus (2nd State), 1662 Mercury and Argus Etching 160 x 220 mm.; 6 3/8 x 8 3/4 inches References: Blum 38 II/IV Robert-Dumesnil 17 I/III Russell 49 II/IV Mannocci 42 IIb/III Notes: A fine impression with margins of Blum’s 2nd state (of four) and Robert Dumesnil’s 1st state (of three). In Blum’s 3rd state, a burin line cuts across the left leg below the knee of Argus. This same line appears in Robert-Dumesnil’s 2nd state.
