Printed by Pruresa.

Float mounted in an oak frame.

A signed lithograph produced in Barcelona for Sala Gaspar, printed by Pruresa on Guarro paper. Issued in a small edition of 50 with additional hors commerce impressions, this example sits outside the numbered edition and was reserved for the artist and publisher.

The composition combines Miró’s late graphic language – calligraphic line, star motifs and blocks of primary colour – with a direct reference to Catalan identity. Created during the final years of the Franco regime, the work reflects his long-standing engagement with Catalonia and its cultural life.

The Artist

Joan Miro

Joan Miró was a Spanish artist who was known for his abstract and surrealist artwork. He was active in the printmaking medium, creating lithographs, etchings, and linocuts. Miró’s prints often feature biomorphic shapes, bold colours and abstract patterns that are inspired by nature, and the subconscious mind.
