In Le Mariage, the artist revisits one of the most enduring themes of his oeuvre — the poetic union of lovers suspended between earth and sky. Rendered in deep, expressive blacks, the composition merges memory, emotion, and imagination: a couple embraced beneath a luminous moon, their forms floating above a dreamlike village.

Printed at the renowned Mourlot studio in Paris, Le Mariage stands among the most intimate and evocative graphic works of the artist’s mature period, uniting technical mastery with lyrical depth.
