Goldie Biography

Born Clifford Joseph Price in Walsall, 1965, ‘Goldie’ earned his name as a graffiti artist in the West Midlands during the early 1980s. His artwork around Birmingham and Wolverhampton was featured heavily in Afrikaa Bambaataa’s seminal feature film Bombing and in Spraycan Art by Henry Chalfant and James Prigoff, widely regarded as the most authoritative publication on the roots of street art.

Further to being one of the UK’s most influential original graffiti writers Goldie has had international success as a Drum and Bass DJ, producer and actor. He has amassed over 2.5 million record sales and his film credits include the James Bond film The World is Not Enough and Guy Ritchie’s Snatch.

A legendary figure and leading pioneer within the Urban Art movement, Goldie’s versatility has come to the fore and recent work has included sculpture, album artwork and forays into furniture and fashion design. He exhibits internationally, enjoying critical and commercial acclaim with gallery shows from Tokyo to Berlin. RedHouse Originals are delighted to be able to offer these works direct from the artist’s studio.
