Additional Information: This original lithograph and screenprint in colours is hand signed in pencil by the artist “Hockney” in the lower right image. It is also dated ‘93’ [1993] next to the signature. It is hand numbered in pencil, from the edition of 68 in the lower left image. This work was printed by James Reid in 1993 and it was published by Gemini G.E.L., Los Angeles in a limited edition of 68 signed and numbered impressions in 1994. There were a further 14 artist’s proofs. It is stamped with the Gemini G.E.L. blindstamps.

The Artist

David Hockney

Born in Bradford England on the 9th July 1937 David Hockney was interested in art from a very early age, and was an admirer of Fragonard, Picasso and Matisse. The fifth of six children his parents encouraged his artistic experimentation. He went to the Bradford College of Art 1953-57. To fulfil his national service, he worked in hospitals as he was a conscientious objector to war. Then in 1959 he was accepted into the Royal College of Art, Graduate school in London.
