Pierre Huyghe, born 1962, lives and works in Paris. He studied at “École superieur des arts décoratifs” in Paris and by now surely is one of the best known French artists. Lately his oeuvre was honored by a solo exhibition at Musée d’Art moderne de la ville de Paris. Over the last years Huyghe has been presenting his work in a great number of international exhibitions and in renowned museums, such as the 2001 Venice Biennial, representing France.

For “Texte zur Kunst” Pierre Huyghe has developed a conceptual piece aiming at the future engagement of its owner: The edition is entitled “Celebration Ghost”, 2006 and consists of a elaborately designed package of white pumkin seeds, directly imported from the US. The package measures 9 x 12 cm and is accompagnied by a numbered and stamped certificate.

The Artist

Pierre Huyghe

Pierre Huyghe was born in Paris in 1962. Huyghe’s works often present themselves as complex systems characterized by a wide range of life forms, inanimate things and technologies. His constructed organisms combine not only biological, technological and fictional elements, they also produce an immersive, constantly changing environment, in which humans, animals and non-beings learn, evolve and grow.
