Rosangela Dorazio Biography

Rosângela Dorazio
(born Araguari, in the state of Minas Gerais)
Currently living in São Paulo.

Graduated in Art 1996, at the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado – FAAP, SP. Her work discusses the overlapping languages of engraving, photography and painting. In her work, she makes use of chisel and burin cuts in order to intervene in photographs stuck onto hard surfaces.

Her individual exhibitions include: Pontos de Vista at the Gaby Indio da Costa arte contemporânea Rio de Janeiro. Paisagem, Natureza-Morta e Retrato at the Galeria Rabieh, O Que sobra at Galeria Rabieh, E já Não Está at the Galeria na Gravura Brasileira, Ausentes at Galeria Virgílio (all in São Paulo between 2004 and 2013), Escalavro E Entorno and at SESC Casa Amarela and Pintura Sobre Mala Direta at Sala Recife (Recife, respectively 2012 and 2009) and participated in collective exhibitions.

Some of her work is contained in collections at MAM – SP, MAC Dragão Do Mar – Fortaleza, MACS – Sorocaba, SESC –SP, ICPNA Instituto Peruano Norteamericano – Lima, Peru, and the Itamaraty Contemporary Art Collection. She participated in an artistic residence at MACS in the Floresta Nacional de Ipanema, 2015.

She received the II Itamaraty Contemporary Art Award
