JR is a French street artist and photographer born on February 22, 1983, in Paris. He is renowned for his large-scale photographic installations in public spaces, which often address social issues and human rights. JR began his artistic journey by discovering a camera at the age of 17, which led him from graffiti to creating impactful street art. His works, such as “Portraits of a Generation,” “Face 2 Face,” and “Women Are Heroes,” have been displayed in various locations worldwide, including the West Bank, Rio’s favelas, and Ellis Island .
