This original lithograph is hand signed in pencil by the artist “Marc Chagall” in the lower right margin.
It is hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 50, in the lower left margin.
The work was printed in a limited edition of 50 hand signed and numbered impressions by Mourlot, Paris, in 1971.
The paper bears the Arches watermark in the right margin.

The Artist

Marc Chagall

Marc Chagall began using printmaking techniques when he was 35 years old. He produced a lot of lithographs, etchings, and woodcuts while residing in Berlin, Germany, during the time. The art dealer Vollard hired Chagall in 1923 to illustrate the Bible, La Fontaine’s Fables, and The Dead Souls by Gogol.
