"Black pull" proof aside from the edition of 75 printed in colors. Lithograph and screen print on off-white German etching paper. Signed by the artist and dated 1972 lower right in pencil. Numbered 2/3, annotated “black pull”, and titled Sightseeing lower left in pencil. Sightseeing is one of a group of ten prints which the artist made at Petersburg Press in 1972, each based on one of his paintings. Rosenquist’s Sightseeing 1962 oil painting on canvas, glass, and walnut is now in the St. Louis Art Museum.
This abstract composition features a cropped view of the words SIGHT SEEING, in bold all-capital lettering. Roses fill the top line of text, and the bottom line of text in white is surrounded by translucent light grey brushstrokes. A frame outlines the glossy screen printed area where the double E is defined sharply in dark grey with a burst of thin lines in the pattern of broken glass.
