Photogravure monoprint with chine collé, unique
The artist began by creating a digital drawing, which he printed on a laser printer. He then photographed this drawing with a medium-format film camera, intentionally introducing blur to soften the edges and evoke a sense of atmosphere. The resulting camera negative was used to produce a copper photogravure plate.
From this plate, the artist printed a series of related yet unique images. While the underlying printed image remained consistent, each impression was distinguished by variations in ink color and by the use of different hues of dyed kozo chine collé papers, making every print a singular work.
