- Description
-
Catherine Howe created a series of unique monotype prints at Manneken Press in October of 2026. For the "Flower Float" prints she utilized trace monotype, a technique of rolling out a thin layer of ink onto a plate, placing the printing paper over it and using a pencil or stylus to draw on the back of the paper. With the pressure of the pencil the paper is pushed into the ink, transferring the image to the front of the paper and leaving the drawing in pencil on the back of the sheet. The negative image left on the plate can also be printed, and the second half of the impressions in the “Flower Float” series are prints of the negative image.
The print was made using oil-based inks on Arnhem 1618 paper. Signed on the back.
