The drawing was created in 1963.

Note: This work is accompanied by a photo-certificate of authenticity from Mrs Annie Guédras, (the official expert of Jean Cocteau’s works on paper).

Provenance: Important collection of Jean Cocteau and Jean Marais works, France.

Condition: Good condition. Two foxmarks in the right margin. A soft crease in the lower right corner. Handling creases in the lower left sheet. Remnants of adhesive tape in four places, verso.

The Artist

Jean Cocteau

Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) was a poet, novelist, dramatist, designer, playwright, artist and filmaker.
He was born in Maisons-Laffitte, a small village near Paris. His father, a lawyer and amateur painter, committed suicide when Cocteau was just nine.
