“Parallel Lines, Horizontal” is one of a series of lithographs with chine collé that the artist made in 2000 while an artist in residence at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgium. The image was made using liquid tushe on a lithographic stone. It exemplifies Higgins’ interest in creating abstract, minimalist works made using repetition and patterns.
The image was printed on a thin kozo paper which was later mounted to a white cotton rag sheet. The image size is 16 x 16 inches and the sheet size is 20 x 20 inches. There is only one available impression remaining in the edition.
