Kaws reinterprets fine art through a commercial lens, applying his background in street art to clothing design, toy production and brand collaboration. This particular version shows KAWS’s trademark character “dissected” to reveal human muscles, organs, and a brain under its cartoon-like exterior. These figurines underscore the balance between the commercial and the artistic, drawing inspiration from the work of Claes Oldenburg, Gerhard Richter and Chuck Close.

Note, this is from the 2016 open edition. It is in mint condition and comes with the original packaging from the MOMA Store. A copy of the original receipt can be sent with the work, on request.
