TYPOLOGY 4
Series composed of 4 prints (unframed) Technique: Stencil, Dimensions: 63x48cm, Paper: Hahnemühle 230g., edition 10, Date: 2022
This geometric composition proposes patterns similar to the facades of high rise buildings, which derive from a common structure. Urban surfaces are represented here by the combined repetition of rectangles and squares,
which juxtaposed, remind us of the windows of skyscrapers. The tension between opposites – black and white – accentuates the optical effect generated by geometric repetition. Such a visual metaphor shows an aesthetic investigation, but at the same time intends, from a semiotic approach, to introduce a reflection on the process of formal homogenization of contemporary cities, in view of the typological constitution of their buildings.
(The series was conceived from individual prints, although they can be displayed in diptychs).
